Listen, I get it. Many books you find in the “health” category can be a little dry, even boring, more written to impress rather than solid information that you can actually use. The read more like textbooks than page-turning great information and are Must-Read Books on health and happiness. This is my “list” of the top Must-Read Books!
Life Without Diabetes
From Leading Preventative Medicine Expert, Equips Readers to Resolve Type II Diabetes in Just 90 Days. Yes, 90 Days! Meticulously researched by the award-winning author, physician and founder of the Lean Body Academy – Dr. George Kosmides – ‘Life Without Diabetes: 90 Days to a Better Life’ is a true revolution. The first book of its kind, Dr. Kosmides walks readers through a scientifically proven, practical program to prevent and reverse diabetes—all without the need for drugs. It’s an incredibly personal mission for Kosmides, having lost his father and two uncles to the side-effects of Diabetes. In American society, Type II Diabetes is so prevalent and interwoven in a culture that it’s almost considered “normal” – even though it is the seventh leading cause of death.

The Chemistry of Man
I have personally referenced this book throughout my career. Another Must-Read Books. This book is very informative and written for the novice as well as professional. I’ve used it to look up medical conditions and have found that systems that could be associated with and how we may “feel” may not have any visible symptoms or an apparent link that we can always measure. The focus of this book is more on the causality of illness.
Back To Eden
I liked this book from the herbal perspective that is am not trained in. I do think it is well worth the effort to get through. However, I do feel that to the older version and to get the most out of Kloss’s book, It would best behoove one to find one that was published while he was alive pre-1940’s. There are revisions that I do not fully agree with. Some things are obvious, but others aren’t. I plan on finding an older copy for myself again prior to 1940. While living in Takoma Park, Washington, D.C., after several decades of studying and writing, Kloss published the first edition of what was to become his magnum pus, Back to Eden. A revised and the greatly expanded edition was published in 1939. This edition became extremely popular in the late 1960s and by 1986 had sold almost 3 million copies. Here he set forth his method of natural self-healing based on herbs, a diet.
Power vs Force
For those who are not familiar with the basis of Kinesiology, the basic theory is that all living things have an energy field. This energy field is connected to all other energy fields in some way or another. In short, we are all connected to each other in some way. Nothing we say or do or that has been said, done or felt occurs in a vacuum and so has an effect on energy. Because of this, everything that is or was is written into an energy record of the collective unconscious.
Cholesterol is Not The Culprit: A Guide to Preventing Heart Disease
You will find a lot in this Must-Read book related to diet and heart disease; Lifestyle related heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S. and throughout much of the world. To me, researching diet and heart disease is like being the detective in a good mystery book who follows clue after clue and finally comes up with an unexpected answer. The detective is always trying to find out who and what killed the person. Some detectives view cholesterol as the killer in heart disease, but this book will show you why it’s not so.
Statin Drugs Side Effects and the Misguided War on Cholesterol
If you are on a statin drug or are thinking of going on a statin, this fully is another Must-Read Books fully referenced. Statin Drug Side Effects is a “must read” for you. The unacceptable legacy of statin drug use at today’s high doses is a trail of chronic aches and pains, numbness, weakness, confusion, fatigue, shortness of breath and even heart failure in hordes of unsuspecting victims. Only by knowing this information, and in consultation with your healthcare professional, can you make an informed decision about your healthcare?
